Sasha Rainbow

Sasha Rainbow is a BAFTA-nominated director whose work pierces the veil of the ordinary to spotlight heroic, often overlooked voices. With a distinct flair for visceral storytelling, Sasha's debut body horror feature, Grafted, premiered on Shudder in 2024, earning her Best Director at both the Molins Horror Film Festival and Brooklyn Horror Fest, and a top competition spot at Gerardmer.

Before stepping into the realm of horror, Sasha's documentaries captured global attention. Her first, Kofi and Lartey, explored the resilience of two boys in Ghana's e-waste dumpsite. Her second, Kamali - a poignant tale of a young Indian girl skateboarder - garnered multiple Academy-qualifying wins, a BAFTA nomination, and was long-listed for an Oscar.

A BFI Network x BAFTA Crew alum and Yaddo residency fellow, Sasha was also one of eight women selected for the prestigious Women In Film mentorship in Los Angeles. She is currently developing multiple feature projects, including M.I.C.E, a gripping prison-break thriller inspired by her grandfather's attempted escape from the Gulag.

You can also catch up with her on Facebook, Instagram, and at her website, https://www.sasharainbow.com.
